My book review for THE HEALTHY MIND Cookbook by Rebecca Katz with Mat Edelson

This cookbook by Rebecca Katz is remarkable & a MUST HAVE!! Rebecca touches on everything from Depression, ADHD, memory loss, & agitation just to name a few. I will give an example below from Chapter 2 & a couple of things listed:

Allspice. Cognitive functioning. Memory. Mental energy.
Almonds.Cognitive functioning. Mood. Vascular functioning. 
Anchovies.Cognitive functioning. Focus. Memory. Mental energy. Mood.
Asparagus. Cognitive functioning. Mental energy. Mood.

Book Review for: The Ragamuffin Gospel by BRENNAN MANNING

Hi guys, I hope everyone is having a blessed week so far ;) This is my book review for The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning.  This book in particular stuck out to me because I was REALLY feeling some type of way that wasn't healthy for myself or my kids. We all feel down sometimes, but some people don't come out of it. They stay in those unhealthy feelings & do the most tragic things to not only themselves, but to everyone around them. What people do affects everyone around them & they don't realize it until someone says something. Below, I will quote a couple of things from the last Brennan Manning.


The Ragamuffin Gospel was written with a specific reading audience in mind. This book is not for the superspiritual. It is not for muscular Christians who have made John Wayne, and not Jesus their hero. It is not for academics who would imprison Jesus in the ivory tower of exegesis. It is not for noisy, feel-good folks who manipulate Christianity into a naked appeal to emotion.......
If anyone is still reading along, The Ragamuffin Gospel was written for the bedraggled, beat-up, and burnt out. It is for the sorely burdened who are still shifting the heavy suitcase from one hand to the other. It is for the wobbly and weak-kneed who knew they don't have it all together and are too proud to accept the handout of amazing grace. It is for inconsistent, unsteady disciples whose cheese is falling off their cracker.

That was just a snippet from A WORD BEFORE in the book I quoted above from this amazing author. For me, just reading those 1st few sentences made me feel like I will be okay. I'm not the only one feeling like this, it's MILLIONS of others of here feeling the same or worse. Clearly, these e-mails need to be released immediately.

Now, my opinion just looking through the pages of this book, it looks a bit cray cray. These don't appear to be authentic e-mails from Hillary Clinton to President Barack Obama, her daughter Chelsea, Beyonce, & Oprah just to name a few. BUT that doesn't mean that they aren't!! It just looks like somebody picking on Mrs. Clinton & making up stories because they had NOTHING better else to do. Anyway, I got this book because I like the Clinton family, always will & I'll enjoy this book whether these e-mails are real or not.

I just started reading this book & from the 1st few pages, I know it's one I won't be able to put down. Rebecca Alexander's style of writing kind of reminds me of Stephenie Meyer, except their aren't any Vampires or Werewolves. Instead, it's Dark Magic & New Orleans: Voodoo/hoodoo!!! For as long as I can remember, I've ALWAYS been curious to what was the hype on Voodoo/hoodoo subjects. Now with this book, it just may answer some of my questions & I will also compare this book to actual facts & the History of Voodoo/Hoodoo in New Orleans. I love The Secrets of Blood and Bone novel so far & being that it's October( the month filled with scary movies), it makes it that much better ;)

First off, I've been eating Tastykakes  #FOREVER & now that I have kids, my boys get to enjoy some of the things I experienced as a child. These Tastykakes minis are #Delicious ummkayyy!!! The fact that they teamed up with Reese's just did something extraordinary & they didn't need help ;)
The cupkakes are minis, kinda like bite-sized & great for any & everybody. Influenster did something different & special with this one. I wasn't expecting to see this particular e-mail, but I'm thankful for the chance to do something outside of the box with Influenster.

Years go by, still in school, keeping those grades up, working not 1, sometimes 2 jobs just to get by. Here comes GRADUATION!!!

2. They graduate & realize all the studying & hard work they put in feels like WHAT THE HELL did I do all of this for, so they begin to search for jobs, CAREERS in the field of their degree, THEY CAN'T FIND THE JOB they have been working so hard for.
3. OK, I'll still work these little odds & end jobs just to get by, BUT I'm going back to school to get yet ANOTHER degree.

MY point is this: you & I know people that have been through this & are still going through similar situations because of the "WORLD' that we live in. That's what THE PROFESSOR IS IN is about. How to overcome these issues & problems & feeling like you want to GIVE UP. Karen Kelsky gives you step by step on what you need to do. This book is a MUST READ ;)

This is PERFECT for people that need a fresh start in their life starting with the foods they put in their bodies. This cookbook was right on time for me because not only have I started changing my eating habits when I was pregnant with my 2nd son, but I've continued to do so. I will be trying out a LOT of the recipes including "Beef & Broccoli" a no MEAT recipe but has mushrooms, coconut oil, yellow onion, tamari, ginger and quinoa to name a few of the ingredients.
